Hurricane Katrina Special to Broadcast on Hope

Beginning Friday, September 9 the Hope Channel willbroadcast a Special Report on Hurricane Katrina. The one hour program, withhost Gary Gibbs, features interviews of Adventist relief workers who reveal howthe storm has affected Seventh-day Adventists. Nearly a dozen Adventistchurches were either damaged or destroyed during the storm and its aftermath. Bass MemorialAcademy in Mississippi suffered severe damage with theloss of several roofs. During the program, viewers will have an opportunity to make donations to rebuild Adventist churches and schools in the Gulf States and Arkansas-LouisianaConferences. While most relief fund raising campaigns direct funds to agenciesproviding for the welfare of the general public, funds donated during the HopeChannel special will go directly to help Adventist churches and institutions rebuild.
